...to a temporary homepage for the former Tsunami Hotel in Arugam Bay.

We've eleven rooms right in the centre of the bay. For bookings and information call Naleen on (+94) 077 664 2991

The hotel was named in 1999, five years before the 2004 tsunami (which flattened our place also), but due to the overwhelming positive reaction of local people we decided to keep our original name. We're now figuring out a new name, to be announced soon....

Wifi broadband available.

Of course, Arugam Bay is most famous for its water sports, mainly surfing - a clean, glassy faced 300m right hand point break, often stated as top 6 worldwide in surfing circles. We hosted three international surf competitions last year; you can also kite surf and windsurf. See  magicSeaweed Arugam Bay surf forecast

Everyone in Arugam Bay is still recovering from the devastating effects of the tsunami, and the final few years of the Sri Lankan conflict, ourselves included - but slowly due to visitors like yourselves we are fighting back.  The best thing you can do for Arugam Bay is come and enjoy !!
